What you’ll be doing:
The Corporate Security Manager will be responsible for safety and security of the Framingham corporate office; it’s property, associates, and visitors. They will oversee the corporate security team which is provided by a third-party vendor. They are responsible for staffing, training, and overseeing this team’s performance. They are responsible for maintaining a secure building via the effective usage of policy and procedure and technology. The technology includes but is not limited to card access, CCTV, turnstile, and visitor management systems. They will work closely with several groups including Facilities, Human Resources, Executive assistants, and the Senior Leadership Team. This position will support additional remote corporate facilities and functions as needed. This position will serve as the main liaison to the third-party security services firm used by Staples.
- Oversee the Front Desk Attendant and 3rd party Security firm program.
- Assure that all work schedules for regular and special assignments are designed to provide the service in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
- Ensure that trained and qualified security personnel properly staff all posts and are aware of how to perform their duties in full compliance with the location security policies, procedures and regulations.
- Review and approve all reports, duty logs, etc. submitted by security personnel.
- Ensure timely notification of all serious incidents.
- Maintain effective communications with all assigned security personnel.
- Counsel, advise, motivate, and (when necessary) provide discipline and positive reinforcement to personnel assigned to the location.
- Ensure that assigned security personnel are kept up-to date on any modifications to procedures, policies, or regulations.
- Work closely with internal and external planning committees and customer teams for special events.
- Identify, analyze, prioritize, communicate, and mitigate risks. Develop, implement, and manage physical security technology and programs.
- Promote security awareness across the organization, developing training, and security driven communications. Write policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and other supporting materials.
- Provide off-site coordination of security for special events’ including but not limited to; pre-visit site assessments, design and implement comprehensive security plans and collaborating with local law enforcement and emergency services for effective response measures.
- Manage Executive Protection program.
- Ability to travel domestically & internationally with very minimal advanced knowledge.
What you bring to the table:
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation, training and reporting.
- Ability to see the big picture as well as strong attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and good problem-solving skills; Self-starter with ability to produce under little supervision.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing complex people, processes, and technical projects.
- Ability to operate with extremely confidential and sensitive situations.
- Proficiency with security technology (CCTV, Alarms, Card Access, Emergency Communication Tools). Familiarity with physical security systems, such as access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience managing a team within a security or facilities management function.
- Proven ability to develop and enforce security policies and procedures tailored to a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of emergency response protocols and incident management.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets for security operations and projects.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years’ experience in corporate security or office facility management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration
- Federal Law enforcement background
- Professional certification in security (e.g., CPP, PSP).
- Experience working with security technology systems, including biometric access or AI-driven surveillance.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and their implications for physical security.
- Prior experience coordinating with external security vendors and law enforcement agencies.
