The Staples Remote Infrastructure Team provides resilient and efficient infrastructure for over 100 non-store facilities in North America. These facilities support Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Sales operations for our retail and delivery businesses. We continuously maximize our value through optimizing our efficiencies, expanding abilities, improving agility, and skillsets of the team to best support evolving business requirements.
In this role, you will be part of the Technology Operations and Cloud Engineering (TOCE) Team that is responsible for the Architecture, Engineering, and Operations of Staples core IT infrastructure, network, telephony, and collaboration platforms. Additionally, the team supports Staples’ eCommerce platforms and more than 100 locations including corporate, sales offices, and supply chain facilities across North America as well as over 900 US Retail stores from a network and telephony perspective.
What you’ll be doing:
The person in this role will lead the Engineering Team that is responsible for the engineering of our network, Wi-Fi, productivity, and Windows desktop technologies. You will work with various business units to support critical projects that enable Staples to better serve our customers. You will work closely with both IT and business partners to deliver these projects and support our operations. This position also partners closely with the vendors that supply and support the technology deployed at our remote sites.
What you bring to the table:
- Leadership and management experience with a remote team.
- Success in developing associates and with working in a team environment.
- Creativity in solving complex problems.
- Can do approach in delivering business projects and support.
- Experience with continuous improvement to drive efficiency and increased system stability.
- Experience with Cisco networking and Extreme Wi-Fi technologies.
- Experience with productivity and Windows desktop technologies.
- You have experience supporting Supply Chain technical operations and supporting a complex network with multiple locations.
- Passionate about driving for operational excellence and mentoring your team members.
- You like using your knowledge of various technology and vendors such as Cisco, Extreme, and Microsoft to solve business problems.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in leadership of a diverse and distributed team
- Strong knowledge of Networking and Windows technologies
- Proven track record of working as a team, both with in IT as well as with business partners
- Willingness to travel up to 20%

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
