The Director of Business Development, Print is focused on prospecting and closing business within the Enterprise/Fortune 500 market. This role includes securing contractual commitments from Economic Buying Influences (EBIs) and Technical Buying Influences (TBIs) within the Print & Marketing Services line of business. Business Developers map out prospecting strategies to close/win accounts and ensure that products and services consistently satisfy prospect's needs and challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Win $5M annually in coordination with Leadership by creating an enterprise sales & revenue strategy to win high revenue prospects.
- Negotiate with C-Level for Fortune 500 prospects.
- Navigating complex sales/business development cycles that factor in numerous influencers and decision makers.
- Strategically understanding and applying Staples Print & Marketing Services as an eCommerce (SA.com), supply chain (strategic supplier base), and logistical services provider in selling strategy.
- Develop senior relationships with key targets and top accounts across diverse personas, influencers, and strategic partners.
- Maintain a high degree of transparency in pipeline management, pricing negotiations, and contract governance through CRM.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management Team and Sales Leadership to make discretionary pricing decisions based on competitive spend, account servicing needs, and future spend commitments.
- Exhibit high level of business acumen and Strategic Selling methodologies to create a value-based deal and align with customer vision and initiatives.

- Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations virtually and face to face.
- Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation and advanced client management skills.
- Strong business, financial, operations and technology acumen.
- Ability to analyze business and industry trends to create tailored solutions for prospects based upon Staples value proposition.
- Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervision.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- 8-10 years related experience managing large complex customers
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in business development or managing programs.
- Industry knowledge and strong negotiation skills.
