The Specialist, Promotional Strategy is a key member of the Promotions team as we maximize the impact of $200M of discounting in Staples.com and Staples Advantage. You will develop an expertise on our promotional capabilities and systems and work closely with the Digital, Marketing and Merchandising teams as we develop new offers and implement them across our sites and other digital assets. You will also support the broader Go-to-Market (GTM) team with reporting and analysis including Omni initiatives with Stores. Further you will single handedly lead the process of executing SBA Promotions through project management from beginning to end.
A person who is successful in this role will develop a strong knowledge of our promotional capabilities, identify and escalate gaps and issues, and seamlessly execute multiple tasks including weekly reporting and the SBA promotional process.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop an expertise with the Staples Promotional System (EPP) and be a resource for Merchandising, Marketing & Digital teams. Support cross-functional partners with requests for coupons and other complex offers.
- Be the team lead for Buy Online-Pick up in Store (BOPIS), a key omni initiative. Partner with Inventory & Planning team to ensure eligible items are set up correctly and provide performance reporting.
- Provide additional reporting including promotional forecasts and past financial performance.
- Project manage execution of SBA promotions including data processing, working with cross functional partners, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assess promotional training materials and coordinate with fellow team members and the Training team to revise & expand content.
- Improve the status quo by recommending opportunities for streamlining and improving business decisions through fact-based data analysis.
- Support both the Promotions & Seasonal Planning teams with execution for key events (i.e. Black Friday).

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of project/process management or merchandising experience
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Prior retail or ecommerce experience preferred
