This role will be responsible for planning media programs on behalf of Staples’s largest brands (think vendor partners – like Hewlett Packard, Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Clorox, Newell, 3M etc.). The Staples Media Network Team is a highly visible team with aggressive growth goals. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing business. The Media Planner, Staples Media Network will be on the strategy & planning team, and work closely alongside the sales/partnerships & account management team to execute retail media programs. This role will primarily be focused on the development of media strategy, planning, and creative development. This role will ensure flawless execution of the preparation for campaign launch. A key component to the success of this role will be to understand the role that retail media plays within the brand’s larger marketing strategy. This individual will be curious and skilled in media, ecommerce & the retail space.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage and own key team documents to facilitate team organization i.e., media program budget trackers, flowcharts, creative specs, promotional calendar, etc. and take every opportunity to refine, optimize processes to work smarter and more efficiently.
- Opportunity to shadow/participate in ‘new business’ pitches or media recommendations to expand vendors (‘clients’) for the vendor media program.
- Leading the media planning process for a book of vendors; incorporate direction from all key stakeholders & deliver success on campaign KPIs.
- Ensure that campaigns are ready to activate and handed off to media activation team accurately.
- Cross functional collaboration with Staples internal teams i.e., merchandising, marketing, paid media, go to market/promotions, customer experience, site merchandising.
- Manage all campaign details for assigned vendor campaigns, will include being day to day planning & creative contact for Staples vendor partners and multiple media agencies.
What you bring to the table:
- Knowledge and experience media planning for a recognizable brand.
- Ability to communicate the business value of digital media and understand how it contributes to the ability to drive sales for brands.
- Strong process and organizational skills, work well in a face-paced team setting, and familiar with multiple digital media channels.
- Must be relationship driven - building credible and trusting relationships in a dynamic environment with a broad range of colleagues, executive stakeholders & business partners (internal + external).
- Client facing experience – polished & clear communication.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel with unique deliverables and timelines.
- Comfortable with leading calls.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of advertising/media planning experience serving clients

- Experience in a retail media network or with retail brands is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
