This Cash Application Resolver is responsible for applying cash to customer accounts and performing detailed research on problems that arise during the cash application process. You will reconcile misapplied accounts, contact customers for remittance and work with collectors to obtain remits. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), account balances over 90 days past due, and unapplied payments while increasing percent current
  • Minimize bad debt write-offs and maximize cash receipts while being sensitive to internal and external customers
  • Develop root cause reporting to proactively correct issues
  • Promptly process PODs, credit memos, and use other documentation support when necessary to resolve account differences with customers
  • Call customers regarding accounts
  • Escalate large collections issues appropriately
  • Plan and organize work so the Service Level Agreement (SLA) objectives are realized
  • Actively document customer issues including promises to pay and customer payment issues
  • Recognize and proactively communicate potential billing and collections issues

What you bring to the table:

  • Recognize and proactively communicate potential cash application issues 
  • Research and assist in solving payment discrepancies by working with Credit & Collections and other internal/external customers to quickly and efficiently resolve issues. 
  • Promptly process cash, credit and debit memos and use other documentation support when necessary to resolve account differences with customers
  • Escalate large cash application issues appropriately
  • Develop root cause analysis to proactively correct issues
  • Actively document customer issues including customer payment issues
  • Notify management of account reconciliation concerns
  • Ability to build productive working relationships
  • Ability to identify and address concerns before they become problems and to propose solutions to the concerns
  • Capable of being entrusted with confidential information
  • Ability to be flexible with position duties and scope of work

Qualifications:

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of accounting process
  • Ability to recognize and research billing problems and to identify component parts, causes and cost impact
  • Ability to utilize computer system features to accurately research and document account issues
  • Strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to cooperate with team members and supervisor
  • Skilled in systems tools or ability to pick up system knowledge quickly 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Cash Applications
  • Associates Degree in Business or Finance related field
