What you’ll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database solutions using Oracle, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
  • Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, and troubleshooting.
  • Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.

What you bring to the table:

  • Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability and desire to learn technical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to express complex design ideas and technical concepts verbally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to coach, support, work with and mentor individuals from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the databases under your administration, be the first respondent to database problems that arise, and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient Data Guard, ASM, Enterprise Manager/Grid Control.
  • Expert in SQL query writing and performance tuning

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Proficiency in database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle certification 
  • Experience with cloud database services on Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
