What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with users to document business requirements for reporting, data and analytics solutions.
  • Drive signoff of all business and technical requirements.
  • Design, implement, and document data solutions using Alteryx to ensure accurate and reliable data is available for downstream BI tools.
  • Use Sigma Computing to build streamlined and elegant front-end solutions for user self-service.
  • Lead testing and validation for new solutions and enhancements.
  • Make recommendations for changes that will improve performance or design.
  • Be a thought leader for BI at Staples.
  • Stay current with BI trends through attending conferences, reading trade publications, and networking with other BI professionals.
  • Meet with outside BI vendors regularly to stay aware of the latest technologies.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work well in a team environment.

IT professional:

  • Experience developing solutions in tools such as Sigma Computing, MicroStrategy, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with data acquisition, blending (ETL) in desktop tools such as Alteryx, Tableau Prep, or Power Query.
  • Experience driving a requirement gathering process for a data or reporting solution.

Technical business professional:

  • Experience developing user-facing solutions in tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience participating in a requirement gathering process for a data or reporting solution.
  • Ability to communicate with non-technical business users in language and concepts that are relevant to them.
  • Ability to look at data and imagine ways to design solutions that speed up time to insight for users.

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business or information systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience.

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven skills in developing and writing technical documents.
  • Experience in the retail and/or B2B industry.
  • Snowflake, Alteryx, and Sigma Computing experience is a plus.
  • Experience implementing new BI tools.
