Position Title: Lead Motion & Visual Designer (Lead Art Designer Creative)
Our marketing team is charged with an important task – sharing our Staples story. We use customer data and analytics to help us understand and improve our customers’ experiences, drive customer retention, and encourage brand loyalty. Our team is diverse, with skillsets and responsibilities ranging from graphic design, content creation and performance marketing to internal communications and loyalty & rewards programs. We work together to provide expertise and guidance, so that the Staples brand is well represented in all areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- You are a digital first thinker and will take the lead on high-level projects, you’ll use your extraordinary visual design talent, strategic thinking and digital expertise to deliver breakthrough creative concepts. Working alongside other creative and content leads, you’ll embrace the opportunity to turn these concepts into high-quality integrated solutions that engage the targeted customer and keep our clients asking for more.
- Provide creative concepting and execution of integrated campaigns that are effective across digital, print and social mediums, with a focus on online and mobile platforms
- Create engaging & responsive, customer focused designs across all digital touchpoints, with a focus on site experiences, display banners and email marketing
- Partner with cross-functional creative teams (Creative Strategy, Content & Social, and Development) to tell our clients’ stories in amazing ways and translate them across a broad mix of media/platforms
- Proactively seek to stay ahead of trends, market developments, technology and creative & business opportunities
- Deliver award-winning (and award-worthy) work that inspires and generates measurable business returns for clients
- Partner with cross-functional creative team members, including Creative Strategy, Content & Social and Development to generate integrated campaigns that build engagement from the end customer
- Develop and cultivate relationships with Project Management and Creative Production teams that fosters collaboration
- Work with ACD of Creative Team to inspire and foster team commitment, pride, and most importantly trust in order to facilitate cooperation and motivation among staff to accomplish our goals
- Collaborate with leadership in hiring, mentoring, and guiding creative team members to fulfill their full potential
What you bring to the table:
- Ability and willingness to recognize the best creative solution
- Understand UX/Visual design standards with experience in rapid, iterative design and development processes for web and mobile properties
- Creative/strategic thought leader (and doer) with an eye for detail
- Understand the value of fostering a customer-led approach combined with the ability to drive strong creative work, and how to produce it
- Demonstrated business and emotional maturity with willingness to hold yourself/others accountable, act with a sense of urgency, and provide timely communication
- Strong creative brainstorming, ideation, and related problem-solving skills
- Proven track record as an innovative & big picture thinker that demonstrates comfort taking risks and encourages their fellow team members to do the same
- Highly organized with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of digital design experience
- Experience with tools such as Figma or Sketch
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with Retail Advertising industry
- Working knowledge of web technology, with understanding of front-end development process, and familiarity of HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects and Premiere Pro for animation and video work.
- Experience with animation workflows, motion templates, or video optimization for digital platforms.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
