We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to help drive the data visualization needs of Staples Revenue Management and to support on-going, ad-hoc requests for the greater Staples NAD business. This will be a highly collaborative role, reporting to the Manager of Reporting and Analytics for Staples Revenue Management. You will work closely with your fellow Analysts and Data Scientists to provide insights into the various business unit, customer, and product dynamics. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining a portfolio of Alteryx workflows that fuel the Tableau dashboards our business leaders and executive teams rely on. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, a natural sense of curiosity and a passion for providing data-driven insights through visual data storytelling.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Develop engaging and visually compelling dashboards that support data-driven decision making
  • Analyze data to formulate insightful recommendations that answer complex business questions
  • Own end-to-end project management of data and reporting requests
  • Design efficient data queries and workflows using ETL tools such as Alteryx
  • Research and troubleshoot data-related questions and misinterpretations
  • Collaborate with teammates on process improvements to our reporting & analytics capabilities
  • Look for process efficiency opportunities by implementing industry best practices
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required.

What's needed- Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree (concentration in analytical or financial-based areas such as business, accounting, or economics desirable)
  • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills using tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with data wrangling / ETL tools such as Alteryx or Tableau Prep
  • Track record of successfully implementing business solutions that drive value
  • Experience telling a business-relevant story backed by analytics to a non-technical audience

What's needed- Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in enterprise-class business intelligence tools
  • Working knowledge of big data technologies and analytics platforms like Snowflake
  • Some ability and experience with SQL, Python or similar scripting languages is a plus
