Staples Business supports enterprise customers through integrated, automated purchasing experiences. Our Sales Engineering organization plays a key role in onboarding and integrating customers into these environments, ensuring a strong foundation for long term success.

We are hiring a Team Manager, Sales Engineering to lead a tenured team responsible for enterprise onboarding and eProcurement integrations. This team serves as the first operational touchpoint for new customers and helps shape their experience with Staples Business from the start.

Role Summary:

The Team Manager, Sales Engineering leads a team of 8 to 10 Sales Engineers responsible for onboarding and integrating complex, enterprise level customers. This role is focused on people leadership, enablement, and support, ensuring the team delivers a consistent, high quality onboarding experience.

The team supports both pre-sales solutioning and post sales implementation and partners closely with Sales before transitioning customers to Customer Success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Sales Engineers, creating an environment where team members feel supported and empowered.
  • Provide day to day guidance, development, and escalation support for a tenured team.
  • Ensure ongoing training and enablement across technical, process, and business topics.
  • Identify and reduce unnecessary complexity in workflows and task-based work.
  • Partner cross functionally with Sales, IT, Customer Success, Finance, Supply Chain, and external partners as needed.
  • Collaborate with your supervisor on strategic direction and continuous improvement efforts.

What’s Needed Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience leading or managing individual contributors in a technical or customer facing environment.
  • Experience supporting complex customers through onboarding, integrations, or implementations.
  • Proven ability to develop talent through coaching and enablement.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise purchasing or procurement system integrations.
  • Interest in operating within a specialized, evolving domain focused on enterprise onboarding and integrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Onboarding, Implementation, or Customer Success related roles.
  • Familiarity with enterprise eProcurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, and or Oracle.
  • Exposure to punchout purchasing models and buyer enablement workflows.
  • Understanding of procurement and integration standards including:
    • cXML
    • EDI
    • OCI
    • Purchase Orders (PO), Purchase Order Responses (POR), Advanced Ship Notices (ASN), and e-invoicing.
  • Experience partnering with technical or IT teams in large, matrixed organizations.

  • Base salary $78,000 - $108,000 plus bonus
