We are intellectually curious, love advancements in technology and seek to adapt technologies to drive Staples forward. We anticipate the needs of our customers and business partners and deliver reliable, customer-centric technology services.
As a Senior Manager of UX/UI Design, you will lead a dynamic team in crafting user-centered design strategies that enhance customer experiences across all digital touchpoints. This role demands a visionary leader who can blend the art of design with the science of usability to deliver seamless shopping experiences. You will be accountable for managing multiple sections of work, driving the UX/UI vision, and ensuring that design solutions meet both user needs and business goals.
What you’ll be doing:
- Craft and articulate a clear vision for the UX/UI design direction that aligns with the company's strategic goals, focusing on innovative e-commerce solutions.
- Develop and maintain a design roadmap that outlines key projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader product development timelines and business objectives.
- Lead UX/UI design projects from concept through to launch, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of usability, aesthetics, and functionality.
- Champion a user-centered design approach, incorporating user research, personas, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing into the design process.
What You Bring To The Table:
- Intellectually Curious and Continuous Learner – interested in asking “why” and not afraid to explore or suggest crazy ideas; comfortable with ambiguity, a hunger to learn, and a seeker of new challenges.
- Communicator and Influencer – effective at communicating complex ideas clearly to various audiences; able to rally associates to work with you to solve problems.
- Trusted Collaborator and Team Player – build long-lasting relationships; enjoy working with diverse people and driving the team toward a common goal; ability to put the team before yourself.
- Customer Centric and Passionate – demands the customer is the focal point of all decisions; a desire to fully understand customer needs; a bias towards action and eagerness to get it right when encountering failures.
- Advanced proficiency in a wide range of design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
- Experience with tools and platforms for conducting user research, usability testing, and analytics such as UsabilityHub, Lookback.io, Hotjar, Google Analytics, or similar.
- Extensive experience in leading projects through a user-centered design process, including user research, persona creation, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative design.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Business, Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a proven track record in e-commerce.
- 3+ years of management experience, leading design teams.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience designing for diverse markets, understanding cultural nuances in user behavior, and adapting user experiences to meet different market needs.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, including familiarity with frameworks like React or Vue.js, to guide the technical feasibility of designs.
We Offer:
- Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups
- 22 days of PTO and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays + 1 floating holiday)
- Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more!
