What you will be doing:

· Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of

  compensation programs that ensure Staples remains competitive   and fair.

· Take ownership of compensation responsibilities for specific    functional areas

  and provide backup support for job evaluations, salary  recommendations, and

  compensation ticket resolution across Staples Inc.

· Analyze external competitiveness and internal equity, identify trends, and draw

  meaningful conclusions to guide business decisions.

· Prepare and participate in salary and ad hoc compensation surveys, compiling

  market data for both salaried and hourly positions.

· Engage in compensation projects such as merit processes, market reviews,

  and long-range planning initiatives.

· Provide expert guidance on escalated case management received by the HR

  Service Center and resolve complex benefit issues pertaining to all Staples

  benefits plans.

· Support benefits-related initiatives, including annual enrollment, benefits fair

  coordination, and benefits orientations for both full-time and part-time

  associates.

· Collect, review for accuracy, and submit payment for all benefits department

  invoices; reconcile HSA bank accounts.

· Analyze compensation ticket patterns, recommend solutions to improve

  program effectiveness, and participate in salary survey processes,

  collaborating with survey vendors as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

· Intellectual curiosity and a deep interest in analyzing data, with the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.

· Excellent attention to detail and comfort with numbers/statistics.

· Strong interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative spirit in team

  environments.

· Solutions-oriented mindset with creativity and diligence in client service.

· Good business acumen and a keen understanding of different business

  challenges and opportunities.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

· 2 years’ experience in HR, Analytics, or Compensation.

What’s needed: Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

· Ability to conduct compensation analysis of moderate complexity for external

  market competitiveness and internal equity.

· Experience leveling jobs using a formal job evaluation process.

· Proficiency in preparing compensation recommendations in Excel and/or

  PowerPoint.

· Advanced Excel skills, including complex formula development; Access

  knowledge is a plus.

**The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
