Our eCommerce team delivers customer-centric site experiences to position Staples as a digital selling platform of choice. We utilize online merchandising and campaigns executed by both humans and automated tools to convert new and returning website visitors into customers. We work end-to-end with our sales, merchandising, finance, logistics and technology teams to provide a world-class, holistic digital experience, growing profitable results in a fun and rewarding work environment. The Product Manager - Inventory Forecasting and Replenishment is responsible for defining product priorities, managing the product backlog, and translating customer and business needs into actionable product requirements. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance digital products and capabilities that improve customer experience and deliver measurable business results. Leveraging customer insights, analytics, market trends, and business priorities, the Product Manager drives roadmap execution, influences stakeholders, solves complex challenges, and supports innovation across Staples' digital platforms, including opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools and capabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog for assigned digital products, platforms, and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to align product priorities with customer needs, digital strategy, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer insights, analytics, market trends, and stakeholder feedback into user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and product recommendations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business partners, engineering teams, UX, analytics, data science, and external vendors.
  • Prioritize enhancements, defects, technical work, and feature development based on customer value, business impact, team capacity, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with engineering and UX teams throughout Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, product reviews, and release readiness.
  • Monitor product performance through KPIs, OKRs, customer feedback, and digital analytics to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Drive discovery, experimentation, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance product performance and customer experience.
  • Anticipate, manage, and resolve product issues, dependencies, and risks while ensuring successful delivery outcomes.
  • Utilize AI productivity tools and partner with technical teams to evaluate AI/ML-enabled opportunities that improve customer experiences, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members by sharing product management best practices and Agile expertise.
  • Drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of supply chain planning products, including opportunities to build new capabilities from concept through launch.
  • Partner with supply chain, inventory, planning, merchandising, and technology teams to improve demand planning, inventory forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • Lead modernization efforts for legacy planning systems, helping evolve capabilities toward scalable, modern product and technology architectures.

What’s Needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Product Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • 5+ years of product management experience with a focus on digital products or eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and feature prioritization.
  • Experience delivering digital products through partnership with engineering, UX, analytics, data science, or other technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing products through the full product lifecycle, from concept through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leveraging customer insights, analytics, KPIs, OKRs, and performance metrics to drive product decisions.
  • Strong experience managing multiple stakeholders, priorities, dependencies, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience creating product documentation, roadmap updates, business cases, and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a bias toward data-driven decision-making.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies, tools, and frameworks.

What’s Needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, or similar credentials.
  • Product management certifications such as AIPMM Certified Product Manager.
  • Experience managing products across desktop, mobile, app, or eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, conversion optimization, and customer journey analysis.
  • Experience working with AI/ML-enabled products, personalization, automation, recommendations, search, or other data-driven capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with data science and engineering teams to define success metrics, validate solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience using AI productivity tools to support product discovery, analysis, backlog management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience working in B2B, commercial eCommerce, retail, supply chain, office products, or related industries.
  • Experience building 0-1 supply chain products.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, inventory forecasting and supply chain operations to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Understanding of core planning concepts such as forecast accuracy, safety stock, service levels, lead times, order cycles, and inventory positioning.
  • Familiarity with S&OP/IBP, allocation, purchase-order planning, and inventory availability.
  • Experience modernizing legacy planning systems to modern architecture.
  • Familiarity with Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), O9, or similar supply chain planning suites is a big plus.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
