This role will be responsible for managing media programs on behalf of Staples & Staples vendors. The Media Planner, will join our Staples Media Network Team, responsible for execution of digital marketing campaigns for vendor partners. The Staples Media Network Team is a highly visible team with aggressive growth goals over the next three years. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing business. The Media Planner, Staples Media will work alongside the Media Managers, acting as a liaison between Staples vendors and external agencies to activate media programs. This role will be responsible for supporting external agencies in the development of media strategy, planning, and buying. This role will ensure flawless execution of the campaigns and closely monitor success metrics.. A key component to the success of this role will be to foster the collaboration between internal and external teams, driving success for both our vendors and the larger Staples business. The Media Planner will be tasked with delivering/presenting success metrics to vendor partners as well as to internal Staples stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing:
- Activate media across multiple channels including paid search, display, email & onsite (staples.com, SA.com) media
- Skilled in project management, with experience juggling multiple projects and delivering media campaigns from launch to completion
- Manage and own key team documents to facilitate team organization ie. media program budget trackers, flowcharts, creative specs, reporting calendar, spend/revenue tracker, promotional calendar, etc. and take every opportunity to refine, optimize processes to work smarter and more efficiently
- Opportunity to shadow/participate in ‘new business’ pitches to expand vendors (‘clients’) for the vendor media program
- Collaborate on the day-to-day management of digital marketing campaigns
- Comfortable with leading calls i.e., agency statuses, reporting/data read-outs, etc.
- Support development of media campaigns alongside Media Manager (briefs, strategy development, vendor selection, budget management, etc.) to incorporate direction from all key stakeholders & deliver success on campaign KPIs.
- Contribute and support agency partners to develop campaign reports/findings; ability to interpret and analyze data to optimize campaigns and develop an understanding of what the data means for the Staples business/vendor, in conjunction with data analyst & media manager support
- Promote cross functional collaboration within Staples internal teams i.e., merchandising, marketing, media, inventory, promotional, etc. as well as a cross functional spirit between agencies
- Manage all campaign details for assigned vendor campaigns, will include being day to day contact for Staples vendor partners and multiple media agencies.
- Experience supporting digital media strategies including planning, execution, and measurement
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- Relationship-driven approach to building trust in a dynamic environment
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of advertising, media, or account management experience serving clients, with agency experience preferred.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with e-commerce, retail media networks, or retail brands.
- Familiarity with multiple digital media channels and platforms
- Comfort with interpreting and analyzing campaign data to optimize results
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, budgets, and timelines in a growth-oriented team
