The Director of Human Resources Systems is responsible for the leadership and management of the HR technology landscape within the organization. This role oversees the design and maintenance of HR systems, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business and support efficient HR operations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Direct oversight of our strategic HR system initiatives across our Oracle HCM and Kronos Pro WFM platforms, overseeing project milestones and deliverables.  Must ensure our HR systems strategies are aligned with the organization’s overall HR and business strategy.
  • Build strong partnerships with our HR COEs, HR Shared Services, and other business groups across the organization as you develop our strategic HR systems priorities, marrying our business needs with system capabilities.
  • Oversee the business process configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle HCM and Kronos Pro WFM systems to ensure we are delivering exceptional experiences for all our customers, which includes our HR Teams, employees and leaders across Staples.
  • Explore ways we can leverage our HR systems to deliver maximum value from an employee, technology, and business perspective. This includes advocating for new capabilities to advance our HR model and overall Staples work-life experiences. 
  • Support upgrading HR systems across the Staples enterprise.
  • Gather user feedback on our HR systems, tools and solutions on a regular basis, applying feedback as a catalyst to deliver a better experience for all our customers. 
  • Ensure robust data governance practices, maintaining the accuracy, security, and privacy of HR data.
  • Manage relationships with HR technology vendors, while ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Ensure all HR systems and processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of HR systems management, HRIS, or a related field.
  • 8 or more years’ experience in a leadership role, managing and leading high performing teams and large-scale HR technology projects 
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and practices, security, data integrity, system configuration & design, system enhancements & upgrades, and expertise within several areas of Human Capital Management: Core HR, Benefits, Self-Service, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Management, Talent Management, Learning, Onboarding/Offboarding, Compensation, Payroll.
  • Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of data governance, data privacy, and compliance related to HR data. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience supporting/implementing Oracle HCM or UKG Pro
  • Familiarity with emerging HR technologies and trends, such as AI or employee experience platforms.
