The Associate Manager, Digital Experience, plays a pivotal role within Staples' eCommerce team, focusing on delivering exceptional site experiences that engage customers and drive sales. This position requires a deep understanding of digital platform management, customer journey optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the overall digital experience.  

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the implementation of B2B digital experience initiatives across mobile, desktop, and app platforms, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. 
  • Lead projects involving site enhancements, feature updates, and optimization efforts based on data-driven insights to grow enrollment and drive conversion. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, technology, and product teams to develop seamless and innovative customer experiences. 
  • Manage A/B testing, user feedback collection, and data analysis to inform continuous improvements. 
  • Monitor digital trends and technologies to keep Staples at the forefront of eCommerce innovation. 

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. 
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills to navigate complex organizational structures. 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and lead projects under tight deadlines. Strong understanding of the entire digital marketing ecosystem, including knowledge of SEO, PPC, email marketing, content strategy, and social media engagement, to optimize customer acquisition and retention. 
  • Proficient in the use of CMS (Content Management Systems) and digital marketing tools to enhance website functionality and user engagement. 
  • Experience in conducting and analyzing A/B tests, usability tests, and other conversion optimization strategies to improve website performance and increase user satisfaction. 
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles, with the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams to enhance visual design and user experience. 
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including technology, merchandising, and finance, to ensure that digital enhancements align with broader business goals and deliver ROI. 
  • Capability to handle multiple priorities and manage various stakeholders’ expectations while delivering projects on time and within budget. 

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, eCommerce, or a related field with a proven track record of managing digital platforms and enhancing customer experience. 
  • In-depth expertise with digital analytics platforms like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, with the ability to interpret complex data, conduct segmentation and funnel analysis, and translate insights into actionable strategies. 
  • Solid foundation in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, with skills in creating wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UI specifications using tools like Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the use of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Asana, with a track record of successfully leading digital projects from inception to completion. 

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical application of data science techniques in business settings, including predictive analytics and machine learning, to drive customer behavior insights and personalization strategies. 
  • Strong leadership experience in managing matrix teams and influencing cross-functional projects without direct authority, ensuring collaboration and effective execution across departments. 
  • Experience with SEO strategies and tools, capable of optimizing large-scale eCommerce sites for search engines and improving organic search results significantly. 
  • Background in content strategy and development, with the ability to guide content creation teams in producing SEO-friendly, engaging, and customer-centric content. 
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot, adept at leveraging these tools for enhanced customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and personalized communication campaigns. 
  • Proficient in advanced analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI, enabling deeper insights into data through visualizations and complex reports that support strategic decisions.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
