What you will be doing:

As a Compensation Analyst at Staples, you’ll support the administration, analysis, and ongoing maintenance of compensation programs across the US and Canada. You’ll partner with the Total Rewards team, HR, and business stakeholders to develop and communicate data-driven compensation recommendations based on market data, internal equity, and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Supporting the administration of compensation programs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational guidelines

- Assisting with job evaluations, salary analysis, and market pricing activities

- Analyzing market data, internal equity, and position scope to develop compensation recommendations

- Reviewing internal and external data to identify trends, potential pay gaps, and insights

- Participating in compensation survey submissions and supporting analysis of survey results

- Preparing recurring and ad hoc reports related to compensation programs and workforce data

- Providing analytical support for merit and bonus cycles

- Partnering with HR and business stakeholders to resolve compensation-related questions

- Maintaining compensation data, documentation, and reporting with high accuracy and confidentiality

- Supporting special compensation and Total Rewards projects

- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

- 1+ years of experience in compensation analysis, Human Resources, Finance, or related field

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent experience

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with advanced Excel functionality, data analysis tools, and HR systems such as Oracle HCM or similar platforms

- Experience with compensation surveys, benchmarking, or market pricing

- Knowledge of compensation fundamentals including job evaluation and pay structures

- Progress toward certification such as CCP or SHRM-CP
