Position Overview:

The brand and marketing intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of marketing, directly supporting the team’s ability to strengthen our brand and drive growth.

This role functions as a utility player, providing support across campaigns, content development, digital marketing, customer research, and reporting to help uncover opportunities and build brand love. They will contribute to a wide range of projects and will be encouraged to bring curiosity and fresh ideas to every task.

A strong candidate for this role is adaptable, proactive, creative, and eager to learn the many facets of marketing. They are comfortable shifting between projects, communicating effectively, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver meaningful results.

Note: This internship position is based out of the Staples Promotional Product Headquarters located in Vaughan, ON, Canada, which requires you to be on-site. Must reside within a commutable distance to Staples Promotional Products' Canadian headquarters.

Target Start Date: June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026 (11-week program)

What You'll Be Doing:

Contribute to Marketing Strategy and Campaign Execution

  • Conduct research and leverage data/analytics to inform marketing priorities
  • Support the planning and execution of campaigns across email, social media, events, and digital platforms
  • Assist in creating content that highlights SPP’s capabilities and experience delivering branded solutions
  • Track and report on campaign performance, highlighting opportunities to optimize

Brand and Customer Engagement

  • Support initiatives that grow awareness and affinity for the SPP brand among customers and prospects
  • Partner with the Creative and Merchandising teams to deliver compelling, on-brand materials
  • Help develop assets that showcase customer success stories and innovative solutions
  • Assist in measuring KPIs for customer-facing projects and reporting results

Growth and Business Impact

  • Contribute to projects that drive incremental growth with existing and new customers
  • Support marketing initiatives that increase engagement with SPP’s eStore platforms
  • Assist in developing presentations, proposals, and marketing materials that help Sales win business
  • Collaborate across Sales, Merchandising, and Operations to ensure alignment on key initiatives

Communication/Interactions: Internal & External Customers / Suppliers

  • Collaborate with internal Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and Sales teams to support campaign execution and share project updates.
  • Partner with Account Managers and Sales teams to provide marketing assets and materials that support customer growth initiatives.
  • Interact with external vendors and suppliers (e.g., printers, design partners, digital platforms) to gather information, coordinate timelines, and ensure on-brand delivery of materials.
  • Support communication with customers through content development, presentation materials, and reporting on marketing initiatives.
  • Exchange information clearly and effectively across teams, ensuring alignment of priorities and deadlines.
  • Influence outcomes by presenting research findings, campaign results, or content recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships across functions to ensure seamless execution of marketing projects.
  • Tangible contributions to campaign outcomes, such as improved engagement, increased awareness for SPP, and our top 25 focus customers

What's Needed - Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field 
  • Must be a rising junior, enrolled as a full-time student carrying a minimum of 12 college credits
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, campaigns, or initiatives to drive brand awareness and engagement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with marketing and creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, or Google Analytics (an asset).
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings into actionable insights.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn from others

What's Needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of seniority and organizational functions
  • Proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on diverse tasks and contribute wherever needed
  • Graphics and design experience is a plus, with the ability to create visually compelling content that aligns with brand standards
