What you will be doing:
As the Senior Program Manager for Olympics Sponsorships within Staples Promotional Products, you will be at the forefront of one of Staples’ largest and most visible initiatives—the Olympic and Paralympic Games partnership. In this highly strategic role, you’ll manage high-impact projects, lead cross-functional communications, and drive initiatives that strengthen relationships, collaboration, and partnerships with a diverse set of stakeholders. You will oversee Olympic-related project lifecycles, from planning through seamless execution and delivery, ensuring alignment with IOC/USOPC compliance and organizational goals.
Your responsibilities will span program management, value delivery, revenue and KPI management, and financial forecasting. You’ll develop and implement systems to maintain creative assets, brand guidelines, and performance reports. You will work closely with Finance and Sales teams to track revenue milestones, develop KPI dashboards, and report project progress to senior leadership. Identifying and mitigating project risks, driving continuous improvement, and sharing best practices are core to your approach.
As a central liaison, you’ll coordinate between internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, IT) and external partners (Olympic Committee, sponsors, agencies), facilitating workshops, onboarding new team members, and ensuring effective collaboration. Operational readiness for high-volume, quick-turn Olympic activations will rely on your leadership in organizing warehousing, logistics, decoration, and onsite fulfillment. You will also support onboarding of in-market talent—including recent grads and LA-based contract staff—ensuring the Staples Olympic team is set up for success.
What You Bring to the Table:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive self-starter with proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs. You are a strategic thinker comfortable navigating ambiguity and aligning diverse stakeholders. Your solutions-oriented mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to influence without authority set you apart. Experience in sponsorship activation, brand compliance, and financial modeling is essential, along with a passion for fostering collaboration, leading change, and consistently delivering results.
What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 8 years’ project management experience in sponsorship activation, sports marketing, events, or large-scale brand programs
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain composed under pressure
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners
What's needed: Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Olympic or major global sports sponsorship programs
- Familiarity with brand compliance and intellectual property guidelines
- Exposure to AI-enhanced platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Copilot, or AI-powered analytics dashboards
- Experience in financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and KPI tracking
- Background in change management and cross-functional collaboration across complex stakeholder environments
