What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager, Marketplace will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for Staples’ Walmart Marketplace business. This role will focus on optimizing sales performance, managing key marketplace relationships, and driving operational excellence to scale the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce, marketplace dynamics, and data-driven decision-making.

Marketplace Strategy & Growth 

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap to maximize sales and profitability on Walmart Marketplace. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and category performance to inform decision making. Identify and onboard new product opportunities that align with Staples' core offerings. 
  • Optimize product listings, pricing, and promotions to drive conversions and visibility. 
  • Work closely with internal teams (e-commerce, marketing, supply chain, and operations) to improve the overall customer experience. 

Account & Seller Management 

  • Manage and grow Staples’ Walmart Marketplace account, ensuring compliance with Walmart's marketplace policies and best practices. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Walmart Marketplace account representatives. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve seller performance issues, working to enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Develop and execute account-specific growth plans, driving mutual business success with Walmart.

Data & Performance Optimization 

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, profitability, customer reviews, and fulfillment metrics. 
  • Leverage data insights to identify opportunities for process improvement and revenue growth. 
  • Conduct competitive analysis and pricing strategy adjustments to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced digital environment. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience managing Walmart Marketplace, Amazon 3P, or other major online marketplaces is a plus.

What's needed - Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace management, retail technology, or a related field. 

What's needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience with eMarketplace advertising and PPC campaign management. 
  • Familiarity with automation tools and AI-driven marketplace analytics. 
  • Knowledge of fulfillment strategies and supply chain logistics for online retail. 
  • Prior experience in a high-growth eCommerce environment
