Senior Analyst, Public Sector Pricing

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Translate analytical findings into easy-to-understand and actionable business information for colleagues and partners.
  • Conduct analysis on actual and forecasted impact of pricing requests and make recommendations to the business to maintain market competitiveness considering profitability and growth rates.
  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives.
  • Work closely with pricing colleagues to collaborate on achieving team and company initiatives and goals. Build partnerships with colleagues across Staples.
  • Develop business strategies and reports that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Staples in the face of business transformation that improve selling profits and shape demand.
  • Support pricing activities for public sector and government‑aligned accounts, ensuring alignment with established contractual terms and internal controls.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to support pricing processes and ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and analysis of recurring pricing and compliance‑related reporting to support internal governance and business decision‑making.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, standardization, and scalability within pricing workflows.
  • Support execution of pricing changes and account‑specific pricing actions, including analysis of margin and profitability impacts.

  • Strong business judgment and integrity
  • Drive pricing processes for our Public Sector accounts that includes business margin forecasting and budgeting
  • Complete complex business modeling and ad hoc analysis to form a point of view on business drivers and provide actionable insights
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational, planning and time management skills. Maintains a high level of focus and composure under time constraints while executing multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing and facilitation skills along with the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Directors and Account Managers to develop and drive initiatives as well as provide analysis, insight, direction and actionable recommendations to sales management.
  • Lead internal and external team members to maintain pricing contracts and compliance.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple strategic initiatives throughout the entire project lifecycle by designing and implementing methodologies to measure and assess project importance, ROI, and benefits.
  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives.
  • Ability to work within structured pricing and compliance frameworks while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting complex, contract‑based pricing environments and navigating cross‑functional dependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency in deliverables.
  • Strong process orientation, with the ability to identify gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of previous work experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • 1+ year experience with Excel, Access, Power BI, SQL., etc.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience optimizing customer segmentation or customer lifecycles.
  • Experience supporting compliance activities aligned to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or comparable regulatory contracting requirements within highly regulated industries.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
