Our Finance team plays an essential role in helping Staples manage financial risk, strengthen liquidity, and support smart business decisions. As a Sr Analyst II Treasury, you’ll contribute to work that is highly visible, detail-oriented, and important to the company’s financial health.
This Framingham-based role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys complex analysis, debt-related reporting, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to turn detailed financial information into clear, actionable insights.
What you will be doing:
You’ll partner closely with the Senior Treasury Manager to support Staples’ debt portfolio, compliance reporting, journal entry inputs, and financial analysis for transactions with significant cash impact. This role requires strong attention to financial and accounting detail and offers the opportunity to support critical treasury processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Support maintenance of Staples’ debt portfolio by preparing information, tracking compliance requirements, and reporting on restrictions, available liquidity, ABL facility triggers, debt payments, and current leverage.
Assist with monitoring compliance with Staples’ debt agreements, including excess cash flow, leverage, lending requirements, and other debt facility reporting.
Prepare calculations and inputs for journal entries related to debt payments, interest accruals, and lease obligations.
Coordinate with the Senior Treasury Manager on Assignment and Assumption agreements for the Term Loan and data access for bondholders, rating agencies, and other third parties.
Support management of the company’s bondholder website and related information delivery needs.
Partner with the Senior Treasury Manager to evaluate transactions with significant cash impact and summarize financial analysis for decision-making.
Help refine processes to monitor and process debt payments, including interest, principal, and fees.
Present complex financial data and debt-related information in a clear, understandable way to internal and external stakeholders.
What You Bring to the Table:
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate detailed financial information into actionable insights.
Statistical knowledge and comfort working with financial and accounting details.
Clear oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data.
Ability to collaborate effectively with financial and legal providers, internal stakeholders, bondholders, rating agencies, and other third parties.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and exercise discretion in financial work.
Leadership skills, including the ability to guide junior team members, facilitate collaboration, and provide constructive feedback.
What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related work experience.
4+ years of experience in treasury, finance, accounting, or related financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s degree in a related field.
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification.
Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting debt agreements, compliance reporting, cash flow calculations, leverage reporting, or debt and lease obligation analysis.
