Associate Manager, Digital Experience

Our eCommerce team delivers customer-centric site experiences to position Staples as a digital selling platform of choice. Our team ensures that our mobile, desktop, and app platforms deliver the digital experience that our customers expect.  We do this through customer insights, analytics, and testing to build a strong innovation pipeline for the future and to bring products and solutions to market seamlessly. We utilize online merchandising and campaigns executed by both humans and automated tools to convert new and returning website visitors into customers. We work end-to-end with our sales, merchandising, finance, logistics and technology teams to provide a world-class, holistic digital experience, growing profitable results in a fun and rewarding work environment. The Associate Manager, Digital Experience, is a pivotal leader who delivers exceptional site experiences that engage customers and drive sales. You will manage digital platform initiatives, optimize customer journeys, and collaborate across functions to elevate our digital presence. This role is ideal for strategic thinkers with a knack for digital innovation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee digital experience initiatives across mobile, desktop, and app platforms, aligning with business objectives.
  • Lead projects for site enhancements, feature updates, and optimization informed by data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, technology, and product teams to develop seamless, innovative customer experiences.
  • Manage A/B testing, user feedback, and data analysis to drive continuous improvements.
  • Monitor digital trends and technologies to keep Staples at the forefront of eCommerce innovation.
  • Significantly influence customer satisfaction and loyalty through improved site functionality and user experience.
  • Champion digital experience initiatives that directly impact customer engagement and conversion rates.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging analytics, user feedback, and the latest digital trends.
  • Regularly interact with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, to align digital strategies and report progress.
  • Communicate technical and complex information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams to launch innovative features and optimize existing platforms for maximum impact.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise with digital analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), segmentation, funnel analysis, and actionable insights
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing ecosystem: SEO, PPC, email, content strategy, social media.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Operate with significant autonomy in decision-making for digital strategy and implementation.
  • Apply deep knowledge and experience to solve complex problems and guide strategic decisions.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and lead projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technology, merchandising, and finance team

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in digital marketing, eCommerce, or related field with a proven record in digital platform management and customer experience enhancement.
  • Proficient in analytics/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization and strategic decisions
  • Proven project management skills with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Asana.
  • Proficient with CMS and digital marketing tools to boost engagement.
  • Skilled in A/B testing, usability, and conversion optimization strategies.
  • Solid foundation in UX/UI principles and collaboration with design teams.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications: PMP, CSM, Google Analytics Certified Professional.
  • Extensive UX/UI design experience with wireframes, prototypes, and UI specs (Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma).
  • Experience applying data science techniques, predictive analytics, and machine learning.
  • Leadership experience in matrix teams and cross-functional project management.
  • Advanced SEO strategy and tools for large-scale eCommerce sites.
  • Background in content strategy and guiding content creation for SEO and engagement.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), customer segmentation, and lifecycle marketing.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
