Assistant Brand Manager

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyze the business and develop a robust understanding of key-drivers and become adept at using data to make recommendations that will propel your brands forward.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our brand health, consumer personas, mindsets, attitudes, values and behaviors across our Private Brands audiences and products.
  • Contribute to major strategic planning functions including brand strategy, packaging execution, content strategy, and digital strategy.
  • Integrate customer insights and relevant competitive trends into our brand strategy and creative output.
  • Execute creative requests related to product packaging and digital content attending reviews to ensure creative remains on brand. 
  • Work cross-functionally with other Staples Inc. teams who support the execution of strategy of assigned brands including Product Development, Creative, Marketing, Merchant teams, and others as needed. 

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience supporting and managing brands.
  • Strong desire to hone business acumen and join a data and insight driven brand team.
  • An interest in strategic planning functions including brand strategy, creative strategy, product marketing, innovation, content strategy, and digital strategy. 
  • A customer centric mindset and confidence to question conventional approaches and ideas.
  • Proven experience building relationships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating customer, category, and industry trends that inform business insights and planning.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize several complex projects.
  • Fundamental understanding of performance metrics and brand financials.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years related experience in a merchandising/marketing/brand management position, preferably in own brand or private brand sector or CPG brand.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent work experience 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in ecommerce
  • Project management
