The Manager of Software Engineering (Customer Data Applications) is responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team of software engineers and developers spread across onsite and offshore locations. This role ensures the seamless execution of software development projects, from planning to delivery, in alignment with the company's overall strategy. The individual in this role will combine technical expertise with leadership abilities to drive innovation, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure the effective implementation of software solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the software engineering team.
- Set clear team goals, supervise, and manage software development projects.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality software within specified timelines and budgets.
- Contribute to the development and execution of software strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and QA to deliver robust software solutions.
- Foster innovation by encouraging new ideas and technologies within the team.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
- Manage software development lifecycle processes and methodologies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.
- Periodically review and assess the team's performance, providing feedback and facilitating professional growth.
What you bring to the table: The individual should possess at least 3 of the following skills:
- Excellent knowledge and experience with applications using the Java stack, Spring framework, Microservices, REST APIs
- Expertise with database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres, etc.
- Good understanding of Customer data, its attributes, and the customer data model
- Experience with cloud technology, preferably Azure.
- Knowledge of Azure products such as Azure SQL, ADF, ADLS, AKS, EventHub, etc.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 9+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
- Certifications in project management or specific software development methodologies.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at high organizational levels.
- Exposure to emerging technologies and software trends.
