What you’ll be doing:

The Senior Manager Growth Strategy will own the P&L of our largest vendor partnerships. You will manage and have accountability for our growth and profitability initiatives, inventory, and account maintenance across our 3P Marketplaces, prioritizing Amazon. You will need to partner closely with 1) the vendor’s cross-functional teams in planning and implementation and 2) work in close collaboration with Staples teams (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance / Accounting). In addition to managing the vendors’ account health, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the long-term growth strategy. You will use performance data and analytics to optimize their assortment plans via strategic advertising, listing and content management, and pricing strategy. Strategy Development: define the right set of strategies and actions to deliver performance promises leveraging exclusivity and channel specific capabilities

  • Data and competitive analysis: Leverage data to optimize business performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Proactively recommend solutions to drive revenue growth and operational efficiencies. 
  • Initiative Planning: Develop and sell compelling growth plans, managing initiatives to completion. Partner with internal and external teams to ensure objectives are met.
  • Growth & Profitability Initiatives: Drive initiatives to increase sales, optimize pricing strategies, and enhance operational efficiency, ensuring consistent marketplace performance.    
  • Customer experience: Ensure products are optimally represented, managing quality of product listing and content   
  • Product and Service expertise: Demonstrate clear ownership and knowledge of strategy and assortment, be able to communicate and answer questions of senior leadership    
  • P&L Ownership: Manage the full P&L for the company’s largest vendor partnerships on 3P marketplaces, including Amazon, ensuring profitable growth and optimized inventory management. 
  • Strategic Vendor Management: Partner with vendors’ cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for market penetration and accelerated growth, leveraging pricing, merchandising, and distribution capabilities.        
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Accounting) to align marketplace operations with company-wide goals and objectives.     
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory planning and replenishment processes in collaboration with vendors and supply chain teams, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand without overstocking.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years total experience in buying related functions (buying/ merchandising)

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple category experience including large P&L management
  • Experience working with 3P Marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.) and familiarity with the unique requirements of each platform.           
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools to monitor and optimize account performance
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to execute growth strategies and improve vendor performance.
  • PC literate with the strong abilities in Excel
