Description
Anticipates, identifies, and analyzes severe and complex cyber threats, including malware, denial-of-service attacks and viruses to help protect the organization from harmful infiltration of networks and computer systems in our cloud environments including Microsoft offerings.  Participates in developing prevention, operations, upkeep and remediation techniques for MS /O365 Security Tools and processes.  Maintains a leading understanding of the current threat landscape and conducts research on emerging security threats and their potential impact.  Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.  Has in-depth knowledge of a variety of cloud security technologies.  Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.  Receives work in the form of short- and mid-term assignments that regularly require the application of independent judgment.  Works with all Staples’ security and compliance teams to help improve policies and procedures. Mentors less experienced members of the team.  May lead teams/projects.  Work is subject to regular supervisory review at defined milestones.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and support MFA/Adaptive Authentication in cloud environments
  • Create automated monitoring and reports of environments
  • Understand Staples’ use of O365 and other cloud platforms to validate they are secure
  • Produce technical documentation including process, architectural designs and others as needed
  • Translate security policy and procedures into technical solutions
  • Provide technical expertise in security planning and strategy discussions
  • Work with other Staples security teams to provide information in line with their objectives

Qualifications
Basic Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelors of Science or 15+ years of related work experience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the aptitude for automation
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in design, development and migration of Microsoft cloud and O365 Security practices and products
  • Advanced understanding of implementing MFA/Adaptive Authentication in cloud environments
  • Advanced understanding of implementing authentication and authorization in Microsoft O365 and cloud environments
  • Advanced understanding of implementing security controls in a Microsoft O365 and cloud environment
  • Understanding of securely integrating traditional, Microsoft O365, and cloud networks
  • Understanding of cloud availability and capacity requirements
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical designs to both technical team members and upper management

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the aptitude for automation
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical designs to both technical team members and upper management
