The Category Coordinator (CC) is responsible for supporting the Category Manager(s) (CM) with the communication aspects of the Merchandising Plans for the Sourcebook, Flyer and E-Marketing programs for each category assigned.
This includes collecting and inputting all data necessary for the content management (FCF) database, JDA database and the Alpha operational database. The CC will work with the vendor to ensure information is kept current and complete. Marketing pieces will be proofed for accuracy and completeness. Aligning with the Product Content Specialist, the CC will work within the Style Guide parameters and suggest new attributes to optimize product information and images on E-way.
The CC will assist in the coordination of periodic or monthly price changes and assist with the annual Sourcebook pricing analysis, changes and simulations where required.
The CC will maintain the Master Marketing template for their assigned categories. Working with the Category Manager, a monthly plan will be developed and executed for each vendor responsibility. Assisting the CM and Merchandising Analyst, the CC will track, report, coordinate results and assist with collection/disbursement of contest prizes/spiffs.
The CC, as directed by the CM, will create and distribute POS reports required by vendors on a predetermined schedule. The CC will attend negotiation and business review meetings as required. To support the creation of Category Presentations to internal staff, the CC will assist in the collection of information. The CC will support the Category Managers and Director of Merchandising by performing other administrative duties upon request.Qualifications
Education: Post Secondary Business Administration or equivalent
Previous experience: 2 years in a Merchandising and/or Marketing environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, JDA, Alpha & FCF systems.
