Position Summary

Function as Inventory Control Supervisor for high volume fulfillment center (5am - 2pm, Monday - Friday).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with hiring and selecting qualified, dedicated staff who will embrace the Staples culture
  • Provide for ongoing training and development of associates
  • Ensure department associates are trained on and comply with safe work practices (OSHA)
  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports, as well as complete periodic appraisals of performance
  • Focus on employee morale and retention by promoting open communications and teamwork, as well as recognizing and rewarding positive behaviors
  • Communicate and consistently/fairly enforce company policies and procedures Operations:
  • Manage and control inventory integrity of the Fulfillment Center
  • Develop and implement inventory systems, policies, procedures, and standards for controlling the inventory within a WMS environment
  • Plan, manage, control and resolve processes with regard to the inventory including, but not limited to physical inventory, adjustments, damages, report tracking, cycle counts and systemic inventory accuracy from entry-point of product into the facility until end-of-day is run
  • Manage and control Information Systems and Warehouse Management System
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, procedures and standards for processes within the Fulfillment Center
  • Foster a high level of internal customer service within Staples distribution, Corporate IS, Merchandising and the Retail Group
  • Manage and support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
  • Ensure all procedures are followed for the building security and product loss prevention for the Fulfillment Center
  • Other duties as assigned or requested





  • Bachelor degree and/or related supervisory experience
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of a computerized warehouse management system
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Ability to manage the work of others
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Ability to uphold safety standards and to participate in continuous process improvement
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual and follow instructions
  • Strong team player and self-motivated
