Position Summary:

As a field sales leader, the Print District Sales Manager is responsible for establishing, building, and growing an outside sales team focused on selling copy and print products and services to Staples Advantages customers.  Aligned with Staples Advantage sales teams, this position must deliver incremental new sales growth annually through people development, and customer account share of wallet growth.  


Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed sales and margin objectives through managing a team of Print Senior Account Managers (PSAM)
  • Ensure highest levels of customer excellence
  • Ability to work in team collaborative environment and effectively build relationships with customers and across functional groups in Staples
  • Complete account reviews for top accounts and oversee account reviews with Print Sr Account Manager
  • Create sales and activity report presentations, develop regular communication, and follow-up to Sr. Leaders
  • Ensure the execution of tactical and operational segments of the sales plan
  • Oversee sales process from team members on calls to new accounts
  • Approve proposals, presentations, and pricing to customers
  • Coach team members to ensure the successful closing of business opportunities
  • Responsible for effectively managing a team - recruit, mentor, coach, and develop sales team members to maximize their potential. 
  • Hold team accountable to meeting or exceeding objectives
  • Effectively implement and monitor key program components, including performance to sales targets, commission plans, performance appraisals, and professional development

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years successful experience in business to business sales management
  • High level of business acumen including financial analysis
  • Advanced selling and negotiation skills
  • Advanced computer skills:  experience using email and running reports from a database


  • Results oriented, self motivated, and driven by both financial and career opportunities
  • Experience selling in a copy and/or print environment
  • Experience managing a sales team
  • Strong prospecting and closing abilities
