The Project Manager Transportation is responsible for Make strategic system procurement decisions and create vision for systems and process long-term strategies.  This includes managing through all phases of the project lifecycle.  Responsible for  activities such as communications, risk management and stakeholder expectation management.  This position may be responsible for managing multiple medium or large sized projects, and a resource pool to support the system maintenance process.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create Long-term strategic objectives for the Logistics Team and Supply Chain.
  • Develops and rolls out new processes and systemic initiatives across the Supply Chain
  • Ensures Logistics Team is cohesive in their process improvement strategies and objectives
  • Ensures all Transportations systems stability and performance. Drives a culture of urgency within the IT Organization & Logistics systems
  • Establish correct controls on systems and processes to improve quality of systems and sustainability
  • Perform TMS upgrades
  • Create vision and strategy for best in class systems, analytics and reporting
  • Manage supply chain projects and initiatives for on time deliverables
  • Develop a culture of a well-balanced partnership between systems, process and associates
  • Synchronize systems strategies with Supply Chain vision
  • Seek ways to improve transportation visibility and execution
  • Manages day to day issues, questions, and requests around our systems and processes
  • Ensure proper training and communication across the supply chain for Logistics Initiatives
  • Manage key Projects and system enhancements to hit timelines and goals
  • Build strong relationships with our key Contract, Supply Chain Support, IT departments along with our other Supply Chain partners
  • Train associates on systems, BI tools, and other applications
  • Set strategies and objectives for the Logistics team
  • Conduct peer reviews based on experience and FAST objectives
  • Develop peers based on associate’s long-term goals and role needs
  • Promote adhesion with systems, process and associates initiatives
  • Create a vision for best in class reporting and analytics
  • Lead change in Supply Chain initiatives to reduce cost and increase service to our customers
  • Lead JDA TMS upgrade initiatives and drive system
  • ic improvements with JDA for future releases
  • Create system procurement strategies and gain support from Supply Chain partners

Basic skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management, or Computer Science
  • 8-10 years of related experience with a focus on the following areas:
    • 3-5 years of logistics experience
    • 3-5 years Transportation Management
    • 3-5 years Business Intelligence Tools
  • Strong functional knowledge of computer systems, both PC based (e.g.; Excel, Word, PowerPoint Access, etc.), as well as familiarity of transportation systems (i.e. Manugistics/JDA TMS)

Preferred skills:
  • Advanced hands-on experience with relational databases. Ability to convert data into business information
  • Must be highly motivated, independent, proactive, and organized with the ability to develop, present, and drive change within the operation
  • The person must be mature, highly motivated, have a professional demeanor, and be capable of working with and/or leading cross-functional teams in an effective and collaborative manner
  • Innovative individual who can develop strategies, design and execute against project plans; and take work to completion
  • Adaptable, flexible, proactive professional style that can prioritize work, navigate successfully in a cross functional matrix environment and engage support functions as required to complete the work
  • Strong business and financial acumen based along with proven analytical skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to prioritize
