Position Summary


As a critical member of the Quill.com team, this person will manage and develop the analytics team as well as serve as an individual contributor to deliver actionable and timely analyses and reporting. Scope of responsibility for this position includes the Quill.com website and the following channels: Email, Paid Search, Affiliate, SEO, Display Advertising and Social Media channels with minimal Print analysis.  You will also own all attribution tools and analysis.


The candidate must demonstrate an ability to translate varied business challenges into targeted analytics that drive recommendations. This position will work closely with cross functional teams to help them understand traffic patterns, segmentation of customer groups, and optimization of online marketing spend. In addition to delivering new business insights through analytic projects, this role will provide ongoing strategic guidance and recommendations to Quill.com leadership team.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with internal clients to understand requests, develop analytics to address issues, prioritize projects, and set clear expectations across teams
  • Manage analytical process to deliver timely, insightful and actionable analyses in support of Quill.com revenue and profit goals
  • Coach, supervise and mentor staff of professional analysts
  • Ecommerce analytics related to overall site performance (traffic, conversion, etc.) by channel, by customer segment    
  • Facilitate and continually improve reporting on Quill.com website and various Channels
  • Drive insights on customer behavior by analyzing site traffic, click navigation, page performance, shopping behavior and purchase conversion
  • Oversee integration of data across different web analytics tools and databases to drive improvement of marketing and circulation strategies
  • Support team by serving as an individual contributor in delivering analyses
  • Collaborate with outside consultants and internal associates on cross-functional projects designed to improve the profitability and/or efficiency of existing marketing programs
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on best practices and standards for developing Web analysis and reporting
  • Ownership of Attribution tools, which includes managing Hudson River Group processes and relationship, evaluating, implementation, and management of new tools.


Qualifications

Basic

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative coursework including Statistics, Economics, Computer Science,  Econometrics, Engineering, Business or other related field
  • Minimum eight years of related experience
  • 8+ years of overall analytical experience with at least 4 years of experience in managing highly quantitative analytic projects, especially database analytics, strongly preferred.  Extra consideration given to candidates with experience in advanced SQL, data warehouse architectures and/or SAS.
  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to clarify objectives, design analysis to answer the business question, interpret findings, and package into easy to understand, actionable recommendations
  • Project oriented, pro-active, and self-motivated work style with proven ability to supervise and manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Prior experience in developing and managing direct reports, internal clients and vendors
  • Ability to work with large groups of people at all levels of management
  • Strong and effective presentation and communication skills, being comfortable speaking with Sr. Management
  • Knowledge of internet analytics packages preferred (e.g. Omniture Site Catalyst, Coremetrics).
  • Internet marketing experience preferred; Knowledge of Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, affiliate networks, shopping sites, email, as well as standard industry practices.
