Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


In this highly visible role in SBG Finance this person will be responsible for:

  • Support the Private Label Business at Staples across channels by generating financials, modeling growth, profitability and opportunity, presenting findings and conclusions, leveraging BI to reach different audiences.
  • Forecast Freight-on-board volumes, cubic volume, cost upcharges against invoices to evaluate risk versus cushion for Staples' P&L
  • Own SBG Essbase sales and margin cube, socialize and train SBG group, create BI reporting ultimately to replace excel reports
  • Analyze SKU Count, Inventory, Assortment of SBG SKUs - collaborate with team to transform the SBG portfolio into fast-turning, productive SKUs
  • Build the Sales and Margin budget across North American channels
  • Support the leadership team through ad hoc analysis
  • Develop rigorous data mining across spectrum of SBG information and activities using BI tools; transform analysis provided to SBG using rigorous analytics.
  • Use visualization techniques to communicate clear, concise, actionable information that adds value and drives SBG decisions and actions
 


Qualifications

Requirements
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years cross-functional project management experience in finance with an emphasis on financial analysis, modeling, & reporting
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, as well as strong skills with data analysis tools (SQL, Alteryx, Teradata, SAS, R, Python)
  • Outstanding oral & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience presenting findings and/or recommendations to senior leadership (Powerpoint, Visualization)
  • Demonstrated experience breaking down complex and extensive data
  • Analytical and accountable thinker, data miner, problem solver, highly organized, highly-adaptable
  • Strong interpersonal skills across functional areas
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, detailed, dynamic environment & handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Experienced with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview, MicroStrategy)
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to make independent decisions
