Description

The Associate Product Manager, Onsite Search will join the Quill eCommerce team of onsite product owners and UX research/design group; tasked with planning, managing and operating the key functionalities and experience of the Quill.com website. The vision for this team is to bring world-class eCommerce expertise and onsite search management skills to the Quill business, to drive increased online conversion/sales and customer retention to have a tremendous impact on Quill’s overall performance 


This position represents an ideal role for candidates with a strong technical background and/or those with 5 or more years of online product management experience who can help to drive insights from onsite search behavioral and performance data; and then using this insight to drive business requirements to improve the customer experience by successfully developing requirements and solutions based on customer needs, competitive landscape and business goals. He or she should be able to build and manage plans that outline dependencies, timelines, milestones and success criteria. Given the highly strategic and cross-functional nature of this role, successful applicants will possess a combination of structured strategic thinking, exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, strong analytical ability and a passion for new ideas


Position Responsibilities:


Develop and maintain strategic plans for the Quill Onsite Search & Navigation user experience

  • Understand and shape customer experience
  • Communicate the strategy and product road maps
  • Provide insights from customer needs
  • Support your decisions using data & analytics


Drive execution of the online search and navigation strategy

  • Propose and manage projects for innovative new search and navigation features
  • Partner closely with software engineers to solve challenges in providing more relevant, personalized search and navigational features to customers
  • Ensure the alignment of product roadmap to business goals and plans


Support broad organizational engagement in initiatives

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and leadership by educating stakeholders and helping the organization to evolve its strategic approach to onsite search optimization
  • Build strong internal relationships across stakeholder groups and business partners
  • Utilize search engine business tooling to optimize search results and algorithms
  • Regular communication of plans, resource needs, progress, and impact


Manage and understand key Onsite Search & Navigation analytics

  • Help define, retrieve, and measure key performance indicators (financial and customer)
  • Coordinate A/B testing efforts to systematically improve search results’ ability to provide relevant products to customers
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the user experience leveraging all available insights
  • Provide insights to cross-channel and cross-functional teams on results and opportunities for continuous improvement


Qualifications

Basic Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 to 6 years of related experience
Preferred Skills
  • 4+ years of online product management, information technology and/or ecommerce
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making
  • Demonstrated track record of strong execution and experience partnering with technical teams to deliver results
  • Customer-centric orientation with proven track-record of developing and acting on customer insights
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and usability testing.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans
  • Experience conceptualizing, evaluating and supporting 3rd party strategic partnerships, as needed
  • Proven ability to collaborate broadly with flexible, positive attitude and ability to get results with a cross-functional team
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executive levels
  • Preferred: Experience with search & guided navigation tools or technology
