Position Summary:

 

The Inside Area Sales Manager-STS is responsible for the leadership, profitability, growth and direction of all Technology and Managed Print Service sales activity throughout inside account management (IAM).  This individual manages the technology business plan within the IAM sales center in Maitland, FL including targeting strategies, product penetration, and margin management. The IASM identifies, recruits, interviews, manages, and coaches assigned Inside Technology Sales Specialists.


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develops a sales business plan to meet Technology sales, margin, gross profit, and budgetary goals
  • Ensures revenue and margin goals are attained by sales team
  • Manages Staples micro-MPS offering
  • Establishes and maintains client relationships and programs
  • Works directly with office products leadership to ensure sales reps are supporting the office products inside account managers and seeing opportunities through completion
  • Ensures support for sales team via regular team calls, one on ones, and continued training and development. Assists in preparations of bids and presentations as necessary
  • Creates an environment of success while building a strong team
  • Monitors Technology sales team performance and communicates results to individuals, teams, market, and management team
  • Manages the selection, termination, development, measurement, motivation, and cooperation of the sales team
  • Manages IAM technology budget and sales margin
  • Ensures that STS policies are communicated and implemented


Basic:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of five years of direct selling experience
  • Minimum of two years of field or inside sales management (Management within the technology space strongly desired)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of sales management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage reps remotely
  • Experience in a range of technology hardware and service categories
  • Creative selling, project management skills and strategic planning ability
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage for results
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and communicate with office products management to ensure goals are aligned
  • Ability to identify, hire and retain qualified sales professionals
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong business, financial operations, and technical acumen
  • Demonstrates consultative selling skills
  • Demonstrates strong team building attributes
  • Trained as a facilitator in sales training programs
