Position Summary:

The Inside Area Sales Manager (IASM) will be responsible for managing assigned sales representatives and the selling process for Staples Facilities Solutions. The IASM will be responsible for the overall success of their team of sales representatives, the Inside Account Manager’s they support and the customers that they manage.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coach, mentor and develop Facilities Program account managers
  • Effectively recruit and train Facilities Program Account Managers as well as train new Account Managers on the Facilities Solutions offering and processes
  • Liaison with other Staples Sales Channels, primarily Staples Advantage Inside Account Management and New Business Development sales teams to coordinate sales activities with their accounts and drive penetration of facilities Solutions products and services in those accounts
  • Perform all management activities to include hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and monitoring performance, motivating, establishing sales quotas, providing education on target accounts and markets, disciplining and recommending termination when necessary
  • Prepare sales and activity reports, communication and follow-up
  • Distribute performance objectives to meet team objectives for sales, GP and penetration
  • Develop pricing strategies for existing customers to increase sales and enhance profitability


Basic:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a business-to-business selling environment
  • Knowledge of technology hardware, software and remote managed and professional services a must
  • Results oriented, self- motivated and driven by both financial and career opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate and establish relationships with customers at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to create and develop effective presentations, reports, etc
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Must have all core skills and knowledge of the Inside Account Manager / Account Manager / Staples Account Manager job
  • Advanced selling & negotiation skills
  • Management skills (mentoring, coaching, counseling) for sales personnel optimization
  • High level of business acumen
  • Excellent computer skills and technology competence
  • Must be able to travel


Preferred:

 
  • 3 yrs. of previous supervisory/management experience in a multi-tiered team based sales organization
