Position Summary:


Staples is seeking inside sales professionals with at least 1 year of telephone/inside sales and account management experience to work with our high-volume customers. As an Inside Account Manager, you will manage existing customer accounts with an emphasis to increase penetration and sales over the internet and phone.  As a business partner, you will be expected to increase customer satisfaction through regular customer contact and effective problem resolution.  Ability to sell multiple buyer levels within small to mid-sized customers.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Grow B2B account sales by building personalized working relationships at multiple levels within large organizations (account base is provided) 

• Promote compliance within custom purchasing agreements via outbound calling to multiple locations within accounts if applicable 

• Establish a positive rapport to ensure customer loyalty when welcoming new customers into the managed accounts program 

• Ongoing identification of new sales opportunities within account base; build multiple contacts across each organization and selling across all Staples product categories 

• Develop incremental sales and maintaining strong margin within account base 

• Consistently meet established goals for sales, margin, and daily activities


Basic:

• High school diploma or GED 

• Minimum 1 year of inside sales experience (telephone-based sales role) 

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Professional and effective telephone communication skills

• Strong written communication skills

• Self-starter and results oriented


Preferred:

• Additional account management experience helpful and preferred 

• Proven ability to meet or exceed incremental sales and gross profit goals - growing sales and margin within current customer base 

• Professional and positive communication skills; positive attitude with customers and among other sales team members
