Position Description:
Perform research, analysis, and data mining services to assist merchandising, marketing, and other business leaders in making decisions related to the effectiveness and financial impacts of product promotions. Work collaboratively across SBU merchandising functions to focus primarily on promotional-specific sales and profit driving strategies at the category and class level. Develop, analyze, and execute strategic promotions tests, understanding the key underlying drivers of promotional effectiveness. Provide deep dive analysis on underperforming promotions and campaigns or key growth categories, and complete competitive assessments. Identify and develop new promotional analytic techniques and ideas to increase customer traffic, sales, and gross profit through modifying or creating new promotional vehicles.

Required Experience/Skills: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of analytical experience. Experience must include:
- One (1) year of retail analytical experience, including pricing
Experience must include some amount of:
- Statistical software including SAS, R, and SQL
- Statistical modeling/model selection, including variable selection and interpreting model diagnostics
- Demonstrated understanding of financial levers related to pricing, promotions, and merchandising
- Ability to represent work and analysis effectively in a clear, logical, and concise manner to Director and members of the organization
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
