The Marketing Manager, In-store Experience is responsible for developing and driving overall marketing objectives, strategies, key metrics and plans across the in-store experience for seasonal marketing efforts, key categories and strategic vendors. The In-store Experience Marketing Manager is also responsible for the in-store experience strategy and budget including overall marketing support of our 1300+ retail stores. This person will work cross-functionally with customer experience team, seasonal marketing team, category marketing, merchandising, visual merchandising, promo, store operations and communications.  This person will maintain a strong and active partnership with visual merchandising and select key vendors that manage in-store programs..  

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced, results-oriented marketing professional and manager with the ability to drive strategy using customer insights/marketing data, oversee flawless execution, and continuously innovate to drive an optimal in-store experience. This role requires successful partnership across various departments and levels, and being a team-oriented influencer and creative problem solver is critical to success.

 

Retail and the role of Retail is changing, this individual will help pioneer new ways to approach in-store marketing support and partnership with Store Operations to enhance the in-store shopping experience.

  • Develop and execute marketing vision, strategy and plan for the optimal in-store experience for seasonal campaigns, core signage, products, services and omni programs.
  • Lead cross-functional team at the weekly Marketing/Promo meeting with marketing, visual merchandising, promo, POG team and merchandising
  • Be the point of contact and expert for all in-store marketing efforts
  • Partner with merchandising and visual merchandising to optimize the in-store experience based on approved vendor guideline standards
  • Along with team associates measure the effectiveness of all initiatives and continuously improve results
  • Manage $2M+ marketing in-store experience budget
  • Partner with Store Operations to ensure workload support across any and all marketing related in-store activities
  • Manage In-store Marketing Project Manager and help in team development
  • Partner with promo operations team to support key selling programs, including in-store paper promotions
  • With team members, create a test-and-learn pipeline for new and innovative ways to approach in-store marketing and related support.
  • Actively work with other marketing partners to test new approaches in-store, including digital signage and new signage form factors
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising, Promo, Merchandising and Store Operations partners to continuously improve processes
  • Manage team of 1 direct report. Oversee responsibilities and performance of team, conduct full performance appraisals and coaching

  • 6+ years of strategic planning and marketing experience
  • Previous experience in retail, visual merchandising a plus
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and creative problem-solving activities
  • Must be able to manage up the organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Team-orientation, with an affinity for influencing and working across functions in a dynamic often-changing environment
