Summary

The Product Manager, Acquisition and Paid Programs will join a growing Global eCommerce team tasked with planning and managing the Staples Advantage and Staples.com eCommerce site of the future. The Product Manager, Acquisition and Paid Programs will be responsible for defining a world-class and innovative customer experience and driving the 20/20 roadmap for Staples Advantage and Staples.com programs. The aim of these programs is to acquire and engage mid-market customers at digital scale, growing mid-market programs and lifetime value.

 

The position holder will do this by leveraging his/her strong understanding of ecommerce technologies and trends, listening to customer feedback, benchmarking against other B2B leading sites, understanding stakeholder priorities, addressing un-met customer needs, and seizing market opportunities to define exceptional online solutions.

 

This position represents an ideal role for candidates with a strong technical background and/or those with 6 or more years of online product management experience who can successfully develop requirements and solutions based on customer needs, competitive landscape, and business goals. He or she should be able to build and manage plans that outline dependencies, timelines, milestones and success criteria. Given the highly strategic and cross-functional nature of this role, the successful individual will possess a combination of structured strategic thinking, exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, strong analytical ability and a passion for new ideas.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in driving and optimizing online customer acquisition
  • Define, develop, and rollout a customer experience that drives customer enrollment, retention, engagement, and growth within programs
  • Accountable for management of strategic programs across websites including, but not limited to, strategy development and day-to-day maintenance to achieve business objectives and goals
  • Identify & rollout new site features across Staples Business Units in support of the overall acquisition and paid program strategy
  • Own product backlog, prioritization, and delivery of ecommerce capabilities
  • Support your decisions using data & analytics
  • Build relationships across the company, actively communicating progress and overall program impact
  • Work with IT and vendors to manage implementation and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders, including Marketing, UX, Sales Operations, Customer Care and other Product teams to ensure roadmaps are aligned across domains and business units. 
  • Improve ecommerce experience through development of new and innovative solutions and product capabilities
  • Drive broad organizational engagement in initiatives through passionate, inspired leadership
Basic Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of online product management, information technology and/or ecommerce
  • Demonstrated track record of strong execution and experience partnering with business and technical teams to deliver results
  • Customer-centric orientation with proven track-record of developing and acting on customer insights
  • Strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans
  • Proven ability to collaborate broadly with flexible, positive attitude and ability to get results with a cross-functional team
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executive levels
  • Experience partnering with agile software development teams to deliver results
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and usability testing
  • Knowledge of B2B ecommerce, industry trends, and technologies
  • Experience in membership-based programs
  • Ability to thrive and add extraordinary value in an ambiguous and dynamically evolving environment
