Software Engineer, Paid Membership Programs
Staples is the worldwide leader in online B2B sales.  We are accelerating our mid-market growth strategy with a strong shift toward customer acquisition through our Membership programs, which provide customized discounts and differentiated levels of service. We’re seeing increased spend and loyalty from tens of thousands of businesses who have signed up for our membership program so far.
These programs are growing fast and we’re exploring ways to reach more customers, add more services, and tailor program features.  We are looking for Java engineers to build the tools and technology to get there. 
We work in an innovative, fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly and boldly.  Your code must be tight and well unit tested.  You love to collaborate with others.  You must love technology and be willing to learn quickly and think on your feet. 
You’ll be working with our state-of-the-art Platform based heavily on the Netflix Stack and Spring Cloud on both private and public clouds.  Work with business partners to define and implement features.
You obsess over customer happiness.  
Clear communicator in writing and speaking.  Your ideas are well-formed and easily digestible, even when speaking on complex topics to those who are less familiar.  You work well with ambiguity and operate with autonomy.  You can be immediately effective working with unfamiliar technologies.  
1+ years of software engineering experience.
B.S. in computer science or equivalent
Skilled in at least one of Java, C++, or C#.
Web applications development using technologies like such as Java, Tomcat, HTML5, JavaScript, and SpringBoot.
Solid object-oriented programming/design.
Strong background in data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the attitude for automation.
Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent
Full stack development
Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, or Netflix stack.
Building complex highly scalable system architectures using microservice architecture, REST, SOA, etc.
Cloud-based development (private or public)
Agile software development
Working with all aspects of test automation automating testing of UI and API’s is a big plus
Continuous integration/delivery/ deployment
