What you’ll be doing:
- Develop insightful, forward-thinking, and scalable self-service BI solutions for the Merchandising team.
- Work with the Business Analyst to convert user requirements into technical requirements.
- Design, implement, and document ETL solutions using Alteryx to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Build streamlined and elegant front-end solutions for user self-service using Sigma Computing, Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Partner with the enablement lead to ensure smooth rollout of new tools and enhancements.
- Regularly assess current tools to ensure that they are keeping up with business requirements.
- Evaluate existing solutions against new tools and processes.
- Make recommendations for changes that will improve performance or design.
- Be current with BI trends through attending conferences, trade publications, and networking with other BI professionals.
- Meet with outside BI vendors regularly to stay aware of the latest technologies.
- Provide leadership, support, and direction in helping to realize Staples goal to provide internal customers with self-service BI solutions.
What you bring to the table:
- Experience developing Self-Serve tools and working with visualizations in tools such as tableau, power bi, Sigma Computing
- Experience with data acquisition, blending, (ETL) in desktop tools such as Alteryx, Tableau Prep, Power Query.
- Comfortable working both independently with minimal supervision and closely in a team setting.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- BS / BA, preferably in Business or information systems
- 4+ years of related work experience
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven skills in developing and writing technical documents
- Experience Retail and/or b2b industry
- Alteryx, Tableau, Sigma Computing experience is a plus
- Experience implementing new BI tools
