Position Summary:
This role requires an excellent collaborator, communicator and analyst with extensive hands-on data and process management experience. The successful candidate is a problem solver in a fast-moving and highly diverse environment and will be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and timeliness are not compromised. Above all this individual enjoys and thrives on data-mining and analysis, and is capable of deriving insight and providing future recommendations based on data analysis.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Marketing and Analytics teams to develop reporting to assess the health of various loyalty programs. Depending on the needs of the project, the project manager may use SAS, SQL, Access, and/or other tools to code and execute complex relational database queries and/or partner with IS and/or manage outside vendors for fulfillment of the project.  Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all data and reporting.  Create visual dashboards through tools such as Tableau for our business partners. Interpret data and highlight key insights.  Recommend additional “deep dive” analysis.
  • Work with marketing partners to understand business objectives.  Craft analytical requirements and design based on these objectives.  Depending on the needs of the project, analyst may use SAS, SQL, Access, and/or other tools to code and execute complex relational database queries and/or partner with IS and/or manage outside vendors for fulfillment of the project.  Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data and reporting.  Use the data to develop insight and recommendations to deliver on the business objectives.  Review findings with marketing partners. 
  • Assist in the design and execution of program/initiative reporting based on business objectives, program design and testing methodology.  Use SAS, SQL, Access, and/or other tools to code, retrieve and assemble data from multiple databases.  Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all data and reporting.  Provide analysis, including trends, anomalies, testing results and key insights.  Develop and present actionable recommendations based on these findings.  Work extensively with Circulation, Modeling, Marketing and IS in the development of test design and campaign planning based on prior reporting/analysis.  Responsible for ensuring that findings and recommendations are communicated to extended team.
  • Develop and/or maintain processes and procedures that assure flawless and cost-effective implementation and analysis of marketing campaigns.  Work with selected vendors to ensure accurate execution of analysis.  Maintain and improve on quality control standards. 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 4-6 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree. 2-3 years of experience with a Master's Degree.
  • Experience with analytics, math, finance, common marketing analytic metrics, and understanding and experience with relational databases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools (SQL, Access, SAS, or other). Experience with large and complex data sets and relational databases. Experience in visualization reporting tools such as Tableau. Strong data story telling skills and the ability to translate into presentations and executive decks for shared learnings and insights.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills. Independent thinker. 

  • Excellent attention to detail.  Ability to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors.  Reporting and analysis require data from multiple sources and require intense scrutiny of accuracy and reconcilability. 

  • Must love people as well as data – this position will interact and communicate with many different teams with varying understanding of data and analytics.  Must be a strong communicator of complex concepts and analysis – with a wide variety of audience knowledge.

  • St

    rong multi-tasking skills:  must be able to balance multiple analytical projects, partners, vendors and timelines.  Ability to reprioritize, seamlessly communicating the required changes and impacts to all effected parties. 

  • Bachelor Degree required. Mathematics, quantitative analysis, finance, statistics or marketing background a plus – MBA or Masters in these disciplines a plus
