Position Summary


The Inside Facility Supplies Specialist (IFSS) is responsible for developing relationships and penetrating Facility Supplies (Jan/San, Break room and Safety) sales primarily in existing Mid-Market and small Accounts within a geographic territory. The IFSS serves as the subject matter expert for his/her assigned sales representatives and works with them to grow and develop the Facilities Supplies product category.

 

Primary Responsibilities


Drives sales 

  • Works with their sales leader to develop market/customer account plans to penetrate their book of business
  • Conducts joint sales calls with Inside Account Managers (IAM) to assist them in closing the sale
  • Develops customer pricing/bid strategy
  • Call out to existing IAM customer base to drive facilities opportunities
  • Achieve Jan/san - break room - safety revenue and gross margin targets in defined division
  • Achieve retention and penetration of Jan/san - break room - safety targets in existing OP accounts and new Facility Accounts


Coaching 

  • Conduct regular trainings with the IAMs including but not limited to:
  • New product trainings
  • New marketing campaigns
  • Facility and break room procedures
  • Provide feedback to IAM’s on they can better position facilities and break room product with their customers
  • Provide phone support to field sales team


Planning  

  • Actively work on facility and break room customer opportunities
  • Conduct analysis to find facility and break room customer opportunities. 
  • Share findings with IAMs and consult on strategic approach for customer engagement
  • Track and manage all opportunities via Salesforce.com to ensure that all program requirements are met during the selling, implementation and maintenance phases


Administration

  • Attend and participate with Facilities Solutions Team
  • Attend Facility Solutions staff meetings to learn new product information, marketing information and procedures that would then be shared with the IAM team
  • Attend/participate in IAM Monthly Team Meetings to share best practices and educate IAM Teams on Staples Facilities offering.
  • Be an active participant to share the unique needs of the IAM team and what should be changed to support the mid market


Travel 

  • May be some travel to customers


Qualifications

Basic

  • 3-5 Years of facility and break room sales experience and solid product knowledge
  • Intermediate knowledge of jan/san, break room and/or safety products also required
  • Training and/or demonstration experience both internal and end-user strongly preferred
  • Candidate should be competitive and self-motivated with strong work ethic.
  • College or Bachelor’s diploma strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to sell as part of a team
  • Professional, effective communication style by phone
  • Resourcefulness that demonstrates independent working capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting agreed-upon deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage full cycle of facilities and break room selling process, from initial evaluation of needs, through identifying appropriate products/vendors, working with bid/quote team for pricing, working with implementation team for installations, and follow-up to insure satisfaction with product and service
  • Thorough knowledge of Facility Solutions and Jan/San products and services with the understanding of how to apply chemicals in different environments
  • Needs to have a good working knowledge of WHMIS and the ability to train others
  • Awareness of the transportation of dangerous goods
