Account Manager - Print Sales

The Print Sales Specialist is accountable to drive sales achievement within their region by executing sales and service strategies that leads to increased client penetration and conversion. Works directly with all areas of Sales supporting them in increasing the sales, knowledge and building a stronger relationship within their accounts. Assists sales teams in Developing a ‘book of business’ that includes high potential and high value print customers and will provide relationship management and holistic print services solutions to a portfolio of commercial and enterprise businesses. Co-ordinates and participates in internal and external training and that drive client development and is seen as a specialist in their line of business.  Accountable to promote the print offering with both their internal and external client group. 
Primary Responsibilities: 
Drives print sales 
  • Develops and maintains a portfolio of high potential and high value business clients
  • Maintains accountability and exercises independent judgment and responsibility for the profitability for both sales revenue and gross margin following the process guidelines for print margin management
  • Assists clients in all aspects of custom form production needs, from product inquiries to quotations.
  • Performs estimating and quoting when required for new and existing clients
  • Responds to clients in a timely and effective manner whether it is for a sales inquiry or to respond and resolve an escalated client concern
  • Conducts client presentations that reflect our capabilities and our core value proposition including Performance Business Reviews with sales reps
  • Communicates with account sales representatives as to status of stock and other customer issues and maintains some responsibility for forms inventory in warehouse and keeps accurate records of form usage and stock levels
  • Keeps open communicate with sales reps on their account and works closely with their team to strategize on account development and opportunities
  • Leverages technology and tools to identify profitable sales opportunities and to ensure optimal effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of products and services
  • Provides training for new associates and ongoing training for sales teams and supports call days as needed
  • Manages Large National Scope clients with standardized print products
  • Supports setting clients up with new custom websites
  • Supports print estimating and coordinator roles as a unified team and will work with team manager on appropriately assigning tasks for job tasks and fulfillment
Print Responsibilities 
  • Manages forms for sku set ups and proprietary inventory
  • Prepares presentations
  • Quotes
  • Provides stock samples
  • Production proofs
  • Writes up orders
  • Coordinates with customer on delivery or stocking options
  • Assists in print RFP, RFI, RFQ pricing and proposal questions when required
  • Tracks and reports on sales and service activities and outcomes through SFDC
  • Provides monthly business reviews to Manager on sales performance metrics, funnels and opportunities
  • Vendor training and site visits with new vendors

Knowledge / Skill Requirements 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in print sales and print industry
  • Strong business acumen and has had prior selling and service experience with various levels of clients
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all print products and services offered in the industry as well as production techniques
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize efficiently to effectively service our clients
  • Demonstrates strong relationships and team selling and service skills
  • Confidence to negotiate with clients with regards to pricing objections
  • Ability to engage appropriately and develop a team environment
  • Minimum 3 Years related experience in the print industry
  • Ideally has worked in a copy and print/graphic arts management capacity such as a small independent print shop with team of sales and production associates
  • Post-secondary Education in Sales, Marketing or Business or equivalent level of experience
