Overview:   In this business to business role, you will use your skills as a “hunter” to prospect for and set your own appointments with potential business 
customers, developing new accounts and further expanding our customer base. Our Account Management team will then take over each new account while 
you continue to do what you do best - winning new premium membership accounts. The more memberships you sell, the more commission dollars you earn 
each month.   


What you’ll do in this role? 
   •     Lead Generation:  Using your outstanding “hunting” skills prospect and qualify potential customers for Staples Premium Membership. Exhibit effective 
appointment setting skills and set the required number of appointments each week with the correct decision makers. 
   •     Effective Selling Skills:  Effectively communicate Staples value propositions regarding system capabilities, Staples Premium Membership and category      
sales in facilities, furniture, technology and print. Following the Staples Way selling process, present solutions intended to meet potential customer’s business 
needs. Capable of overcoming objections and closing the sale. Visits customers in their workplace.  
   •     Internal Partnerships:  Set up new customers in a timely fashion and smoothly transition them to the Customer Experience Specialist team.  Keep           
accurate and up to date notes in all Staples systems to ensure internal partners are set up to successfully handle the new account.

On the Job Training:  Get practical and hands-on training developed and conducted by top-producing sales leaders.  Learn techniques to generate leads, win 
over customers, and ensure customer retention.  Schedule in-person presentations with a company-issued laptop and/or iPad.  Receive one-on-one coaching 
and spend time in the office, on sales calls, and participating in team days

Career Advancement:  Initiate relationships with multi-level decision makers, work side by side with a team of sales support and product category experts to 
ensure all of the customers’ needs are met. This role will prepare you to aim towards achieving a promotion to a higher role within Mid Market Sales or within 
our Commercial Sales organization

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Skills

Preferred Skills

  • College degree

  • 1 – 3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate

  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM), a plus

  • Industry knowledge, a plus
