Position Summary:

Staples Contract Division's Technology Solutions Group for SMB (small to medium size businesses... Staples Advantage) is growing and we are adding an inside sales position based in (enter city).  This person will consult and collaborate in a joint sales motion with our Inside Account Managers, current customer base, as well as work with our Business Development team when applicable on new client acquisition.  We will support and sell the entire technology product and services offering, which includes, but is not limited to printers, headsets, memory, shredders and many other office technology products.  We will also sell our remote managed services offering, as well as professional services offering.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and close sales opportunities within existing accounts and identified New Business accounts
  • Work with the inside sales team in a joint selling motion to develop a defined technology program to support specific account requirements through extensive product and service knowledge while growing sales, gross margin and technology penetration
  •  Provide ongoing training to the Inside Account Management Team on methods to identify and do preliminary qualification of the technology opportunities
  • Ensure that the Inside Account Managers feel comfortable and confident discussing and broaching the subject of low tech commodity items and managed and professional services
  • Develop, nurture and grow key manufacturer relationships and facilitate the building of a relationship between these manufacturer partners and the Inside Account Managers
  • Provide consultative information to customer and the inside sales force in product pricing, selection, associated products and services
  • Effectively influence inside sales force to recommend quality technology solutions that meet customer needs and reflect target margin rates
  • Work closely with product sourcing team to support the order placement process and insure a high level of customer satisfaction

 


Qualifications

Basic:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years related experience
  • Successful experience selling, implementing and managing business programs to customers at the administrative, management, and senior management levels
  • Extensive knowledge of Business technology hardware, peripherals and knowledge of various print technologies as well as remote managed and professional services
