Description

Staples Business Advantage®, the Business-to-Business division of Staples Corporation, is currently seeking motivated, high-energy, entry level B2B outside sales candidates to join our Commercial channel’s Apprentice Sales Consultant (ASC) training program.  This program includes rotations through sales operations, prospecting, inside and outside sales positions and provides all of the skills and experience needed to succeed in an outside sales role.  The first 12 months of this position will be located in Westminster, CO (relocation assistance available), followed by an agreed upon regional sales position.  We are hiring for our January 2018 and June 2018 class and strongly encourage December 2017 and May 2018 grads to apply.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Complete intensive 90-day onboarding program that includes: Staples PRO Category support (Facilities, Print, Tech and Furniture); Sales training; Introduction to Staples Business Advantage® sales strategy
  • Engage with multiple departments to expose the ASC to the full customer lifecycle
  • Prospecting, lead mining, qualifying and researching prospective customers
  • Build customer proposals
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Lead customer interactions and drive customer satisfaction
  • Drive incremental sales with existing customers
  • Regularly interact with and present to senior leadership and customers
  • Autonomy and ability to make decisions with little or no direction
  • Travel to on site customer visits
 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • College Degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven self-starter with energy and motivation to find, develop and close sales
  • Must be results oriented and driven by both financial and career opportunities
  • Demonstrated strong time management skills
  • Willingness to relocate
  • Desire to build a successful career in outside sales
 
Preferred Qualifications  
  • College Degree in Sales or Sales Certificate
  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation and advanced client management skills
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive selling environment
  • Ability to make decisions with little or no direction
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
